DreamWorks Animation Cleans Up With Maintenance Purchase
Maintenance is a comic near janitors WHO work for evil geniuses, and DreamWorks Vivification but bought the film rights.
DreamWorks Animation's well-nig recent passing was Megamind, a movie around a supervillain and his superhero foe. The living company International Relations and Security Network't letting go of evil geniuses just yet, though. DreamWorks has scarcely acquired the rights to the comic Maintenance, a series kick in the world's largest think tank for malefic science. Jim Massey (Death Takes a Holiday, Stephen Colbert's Tek Cornelis Jansen) and Robbi Rodrigues (Hero sandwich Camp, Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen) are the carbon monoxide-creators, and Maintenance is published by Oni Press, best known for Scott Pilgrim and Wasteland.
Manny and Doug are the series's protagonists, janitors working at TerroMax, Iraqi National Congress. Oni describes Manny and Doug's as "not your typical custodial crew," exclaiming, "when they're non dealing with deadly spill monsters and talking mansharks, they even so have to vexation about mad scientists, crazy would-be dictators, and the cute girl who works at reception!"
DreamWorks actually pulled the rights right out form under Warner Bros., who had been scene it up as a picture for director Microgram (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Redemption). Joe Ballarini was penning the hand for Warner Bros., and seeing every bit I've ne'er heard of whatsoever of his five committal to writing credits (including Dance of the Dead and Father vs. Logos), I'm separate of gladiolus DreamWorks acquired the rights.
